von nextdrive in Kategorie Allgemein.

1. ABOUT THE PAST OF YOUR DESIRED VEHICLE :
You can collect past information about the car by running VIN ( Vehicle Identification Number) or by the current owner of the car. You should get as much information as you can about the car. Though running VIN is a paid service, I advise you to give it a try, and you will get to know about any accident or recall.

Service records and vehicle history are not always sufficient to proof of a car’s past, but they can provide valuable information about the car.

2.FITNESS OF THE ENGINE :
Now tell me what the most important part of a car is? Yes, you’re right, it is the engine. Without a perfect engine you won't be able to drive a car. So give more attention to this part. Pop the hood up and observe the engine if there is any fluid leaks, crack hoses or belts, or any corrosion. You should also check the oil and transmission dipsticks for any discoloration.

If you smell gas, burning oil or amiss, inform your dealer immediately. Do not consider the issue because in future it can bring unexpected situation.

3.ABOUT THE MILEAGE :
Each year, an average car will rack up about 20,000 km. Here is a simple trick— divide the number on odometer by the vehicle's age, the result is the mileage of that car. Always remember that the fewer miles it had been driven, the better that used car is. An average of 12,000 miles per year is considered as normal.

The value of the car at purchase and sale, the cost of maintenance are affected by the mileage, so it is an important issue for buying a used car.

4.CONDITION OF THE TIRES :
All the four tire tread of the car should be evenly worn. If there is a poor alignment, then you may notice the symptoms of steering or frame issues. Also, if your car is poorly aligned, it will pull to the right or left while driving. So if the four tires of the car do not match, you should not consider the matter.

You can also ask your dealer about the age of the tires. It is not a good idea to buy a car which is carrying old tires.

5.ABOUT THE ELECTRONICS OF THE INTERIOR:
Just imagine that, you are listening your favorite song and that time suddenly the radio got blasted! All I can say that this is definitely a horrible experience. To avoid such unexpected situation, please do check the radio, air conditioning, heater and the other electronic components of the cockpit.

You should check whether the seats are comfortable or not, the position of steering wheel, the front and back lights also.

6.TEST DRIVE IS A MUST :
You should also check the maneuverability, acceleration, breaking, suspension of the car. If possible, try to drive the car on a highway. Also try parallel parking so if there is any blind spot, it will catch your eyes. Also remember to check if there is enough headroom, hip room and legroom. Do not forget to check the space in the backseat.

Remember that you will be able to find out any damage or serious issue only by doing a test drive, so do not skip the step.

7.INSPECTIONS OF MECHANIC :
No matter how much a used car looks and feels good, always there is a possibility of underlying issue. To make sure that there is no hidden problem in the car, you should look for a mechanic. A mechanic is able to determine if the vehicle has any underlying issues or areas. It is not a free service, but it could save you from many problems.

There is already been an inspection in case of a CPO car. So if it is a CPO car, you don’t need an independent mechanic.

THE IMPORT RULES AND REGULATIONS :
In Bangladesh, there is a high demand of used Japanese car. However, there are some rules and regulations of car import from Japan to Bangladesh. They are—

• The age of imported car should not more than 4 years.

• Importation of used car must be done from the country origin.

Port in Chittagong and Dhaka are the ports for shipment of vehicles in Bangladesh. Taxes are levied on vehicles when a used vehicle is imported in Bangladesh.

Nowadays it is really hard to find out that one right car for you when there are so many options. So it is good to take time for doing enough research so you won't have to regret after buying the car. You should bear in mind that buying a used car can save a lot of money, but sometimes it also causes your money fly.
